Roll Out The Red Carpet Makeup Tutorial
It can be discouraging for a normal person to watch the gorgeous A-list celebrities walking down the red carpet each season with perfect bodies, perfect clothes, and perfect hair and makeup. Yes, many of those actors are naturally stunning, but at the end of the day they're just normal people too. They just happen to have really good stylists and makeup artists. The glitz and glam of the red carpets always leaves me inspired to experiment with my makeup routine, and this week I've been playing around with smokey brown eyeshadows and glossy nude lips. This makeup look is so easy to re-create, and it will add just the right amount of glamour to your next big event!

Step 1: Brighten Your Complexion
Before we start the look, you'll want to cover any blemishes or discoloration with your favorite concealer and foundation. After you even out your skin tone, it's important to add some color back into your complexion. I like to subtly contour my cheekbones with a matte bronzer and then sweep the color around the outside of my face along my hairline and jawline. The key is to bring out your bone structure without creating harsh lines. After contouring, I'll use the same brush to apply a bright pink blush to the apples of my cheeks and a smaller brush to highlight with a shimmery champagne powder. After this step is complete, your face will be flawless!
Step 2: Smoke Out The Eyes
Award show beauty is all about drama and glamour, so I thought a shimmery brown smokey eye was the perfect fit for this celebrity-inspired look. It's easy to create a red carpet-worthy eye look in minutes when you use this easy technique.
1. Apply a matte eyeshadow that matches your skintone underneath the browbone with a flat brush.
2. Use your finger to apply a shimmery brown cream eyeshadow to the top of your lid and into the crease of your eye.
3. Pat a medium brown shimmer shadow on top of your lid with a flat brush and blend the color through the crease to smooth out any harsh lines.
4. Use a small crease brush to apply a deep brown eyeshadow to the outer corner of your eye and gently blend the color into the outer portion of your crease.
Once my eyeshadow is perfectly blended, I like to use Q-tips Precision Tips smudge the medium shimmery brown eyeshadow along my lower lash line. Q-tips Precision Tips are made from 100% pure cotton, so their soft texture is gentle enough to use around the delicate eye area. I also love that because they're disposable, I get a clean and fresh application every time! Unlike a traditional makeup brush, I don't have to mess around with washing and drying this handy tool. Plus, a 170-count pack is only $3.29, so I can afford to use them every single day!
I finished my eye look with winged black liquid eyeliner and a few coats of volumizing mascara, and as always my eyeliner wasn't even! Thankfully a quick swipe with the clean side of my Q-tips Precision Tips swab helped me easily even out both sides!
Step 3: Go Nude
When I'm creating a dramatic eye look, I tend to opt for a nude lip. This month, I've been pairing a peachy-nude lipstick with a shimmery lipgloss to create the perfect nude lip combo. If you want to help your lips instantly look bigger, try applying a shimmery lipgloss that's at least one shade lighter than your lipstick to the center of your lips!
