My husband and I constantly have a friendly competition going on. Whether we’re getting directions, looking for an item at the store, quoting movies, playing a game, or eating sour candy, you can bet that we have some sort of competition going on. That’s one of the many reasons why game nights are always a hit at our house. They’re incredibly fun, affordable, and perfect for any age group. In addition to being a highly competitive group, we’re also big snackers. In my opinion, you just can’t have a game night (or any night really) without fun snacks, and we always pick sour candy. When I was shopping at Walmart and looking for candy ideas for our game night this past weekend, I stumbled upon a new variety of sour candy, Mike and Ike Zours®. I’ve always loved the original Mike and Ike varieties, so I knew the addition of a sour coating would make them even better.
After deciding on our featured snack, it was time to bring out the games. The selection process naturally turned into a bit of a pre-game trash talking session, and the four players decided on Scrabble, Battleship, and Yahtzee. Classic games are always a hit in this household.
I had grabbed six boxes of Zours® at Walmart (totally necessary for three people) on Thursday, but we only had two boxes left for our weekend game night…oops! What I can say? They’re just incredibly addictive, and sour candy goes fast in this house!
We started the night out with a game of Scrabble, and our intense word-forming battle went on four three hours. I wasn’t kidding- my family takes games very seriously.
We passed around the Zours® at the end of each player’s turn mainly to laugh at them as they made a silly sour face. Keep reading to see a few #ZoursFace highlights from the evening! Let’s just say this little activity turned into a secondary game. We soon started competing on who could go the longest without making a #ZoursFace.
No names will be mentioned, but some people (*cough Ryan and my Dad *cough) like to take their sweet time choosing words during their turn, so I decided to have a little fun with the sour candy.
In the end, I barely lost the game to my husband, but you can rest assured knowing that I will be challenging him to a re-match as soon as possible! If you’re looking for a fun way to connect with friends and family, try hosting a game night! Whether you prefer card games, board games, charades, or video games, find a few fun games and add a few delicious snacks- I personally recommend sour candy like Mike and Ike Zours®– and invite the whole gang over for a night of fun and lots of laughs!
